“What involves a lot of Orange, knocking on doors and making people happy?” The answer is, Fox Rehabilitation. Jimmy talked with Fox Rehab CEO Dr. Tim Fox about what makes their clinic model atypical. They covered the impending surge of older adults.
Tim’s Bio
Dr. Tim Fox is a man driven by a passion to change how our world sees ageing and to make his pioneering approach to rehabilitation available to all older adults so they can achieve what once seemed impossible.
Dr. Fox is a practicing physical therapist and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FOX Rehabilitation™, a high growth entrepreneurial private practice. Dr. Fox received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Credentialed Clinical Instructor (CCI) by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Early Career
Dr. Fox began his career at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1995.
Following Thomas Jefferson, he became Director of Rehabilitation for a healthcare facility belonging to the Genesis Elder Care Company. His efforts led the facility to receive its first Joint Commission Accreditation for Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care. He also established and implemented intensive rehabilitation programs and protocols that significantly improved the quality of care for the facilities’ clients.
Dr. Fox felt that felt that more autonomy in his work would enable him to provide a more personal and accessible level of care, which in turn would produce more functional and useful outcomes for clients. His interest in the unique needs of the older adults allowed him to identify a significant limitation in how older adults access and receive necessary physical and occupational therapies.
Creation of Fox Rehabilitation
It was shortly thereafter, in 1998, that Dr. Fox founded FOX Rehabilitation, offering the innovative concept of Geriatric House Calls™.
Dr. Fox is widely known for his revolutionary approach to physical therapy and how it contributions to improving the function, safety, and quality of life of older adults.
